Description: Before leaving a house on a journey, a traveller should sit on his luggage for good luck.
There are some variations on this superstition. Some believe that the traveller must sit on their luggage and sigh deeply, other believe that everyone in a household should sit together for suddenly, similar to the game 'musical chairs' where everyone scrambles to take an available seat.
The purpose of the superstition is, nominally, to garner luck for the voyage; and practically, to pause to remember if you have packed everything.
