Description: It is bad luck to place shoes upon a table
Shoes have featured as a superstitious symbol since very ancient times, when it must have been rare to ever see a pair of shoes, let alone ever wear any. They have remained one of the most popular items of superstition for centuries.
In later ages, good luck could be had by spitting in the right shoe before putting it on, while safe travel could be secured by placing a silver coin in your left shoe. It was also said that putting dried mint in each shoe would help you find your fortune.
