Description: Always leave a light burning in an empty theatre.
Every theatre has a 'ghost light' that is never turned off, to guide the first person in, and the last person out of the theatre. Over the centuries a myth has built up that the light is protection from spirits who would cause mischief if it were to go out.
Another superstition states that a theatre should always be closed one night a week to give the ghosts a chance to perform their own plays, which they presumably manage with the light on.
