Description: When faced with a difficult decision, toss a coin to decide.
In Roman times it was though that one should appeal to the gods for guidance in life's major decisions, and so the practice of tossing a coin developed as a form of pocket divination. The Romans were the first to mint coins with the face of the Emperor always on one side - and since the Emperors were counted among the gods of Rome, the Emperor's head landing face up was seen as divine approval.
